367 Days Later...

Hi there and happy Friday!  Sadly, I realize I've neglected this blog due to the stress and lifestyle of a first-year teacher.  Kudos to those remarkable humans who teach AND keep up with blogging though.  I don't know how you do it!

Luckily, it is a Friday evening in late July and summer school just ended (hooray!), so it seems I have all the time in the world.  What else is there to do other than hit the beach update this old thing?

Lord knows this has been way overdue, and I am terrible with words.  This being said, here are some fun photographs to sum up the school year:

Class Halloween Party
I'm so glad our whole school gets to celebrate this fun holiday just like I did when I was a kid.

4th Grade Field Trip to the American History Museum
This trip got postponed to November because of the government shutdown.  Believe it or not, I am actually in this picture.  Boy do I blend in...

Hear that?  I have a good sense of homer!

When partial products got tricky, some of us used base ten blocks to visualize the equation.

We made these pretty birds out of recyclable cardboard pieces.  Once they are fire-proofed, they will be hung in our school's atrium.

Sounds cliche, but my pictures and words can't even express how crazy, stressful, fulfilling, and terrific this year was.  Honestly, there were some times when I thought I couldn't handle it anymore (should I even be saying that?), but looking back at everything, I remember what a wonderful responsibility it is to play such a major part in those young lives.  Having those eighteen sweet, goofy faces greeting me every morning definitely helped.
