End of the semester ramblings

Last Friday was my very last day of student teaching, which means I'm one step closer to graduation in January.  If anyone knows why Towson makes us wait half a month before actually graduating, please enlighten me!  Anyway, this also means that I am (un) officially an unemployed college graduate living back at home.

For the past two hours, I've been laying in bed in my pajamas without a care in the world surfing every social media website and online shopping.  I also came across this awesome blog- Wendy's Look Book.  Check out this video for "25 Ways to Wear a Scarf".  For those who know me, you know I have just about a million scarves, so you can bet I'll be testing a few of these out soon!

Accelerated Reader bookmark

Since my student internship is coming to an end, I am giving the class bookmarks that will remind them to keep up with their AR goals.  If I could, I would also give them each smarties candy, but we aren't allowed to at my school.  :(  I'm gonna miss these kids!

The file is a .jpg so you could also include a small message of some sort in the blank space.  Feel free to use them and share!

Stay calm and breathe deep.

I am about to start my first teach-week as a full time student intern!  Just reminding myself to stay calm and breathe deep.  This was a former professor's mantra; thank god for her!

Mother's Day Cinquains

My mentor teacher's class been learning about different types of poetry and so far we've practiced describing words and -ing poems.  The cinquain poem is a great way to tie all of these components together!

After reading examples and writing a class cinquain poem, each of the students wrote their own unique Mother's Day Cinquains.  Here is a simple template to use if you plan to teach your class about cinquains!
